Philip has a Bachelor of Design (Architecture) from the University of Newcastle, NSW. While studying, Philip won a Historic Houses Trust competition for the residential reuse of a historically significant building near Newcastle, and developed this project further as an intern with Heritas Architects.
From these experiences, Philip gained an ongoing interest in heritage and interpretation and how these stories can be expressed and kept alive through design and the built environment. Prior to relocating to Melbourne, he worked on various signage projects for the Historic Houses Trust as well as freelance 3D drafting and design.
Philip appreciates wayshowing as strategies, which begin with the science of human behaviour and perception, followed by rigorous analysis of clients’ goals and needs, to develop innovative and memorable solutions.
