3D Spatial Modelling

Crown Entertainment Complex spreads out over 3 city blocks on the south bank of the Yarra River in Melbourne, attracting an average of 16 million visitors yearly.

The Crown Entertainment Complex incorporates several nightclubs, a Village Cinema and multiple restaurants, fast food outlets, food courts and shops.

The complex also houses an electronic games arcade and bowling alley.

Notable features of the casino include its colourful entrance (commonly known as the ‘Atrium’, featuring stepped fountains and sound and light shows under the themes of the four seasons), and pyrotechnic towers running the length of the Casino promenade.

It has many luxury brand stores such as Prada, Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Versace. It has three hotel towers, Crown Towers Hotel and Crown Promenade Hotel, and the new Metropol, Australia’s largest hotel.

ID/Lab has worked with Crown’s project  office on a number of projects, ranging from developing performance specifications for graphic designers, to wayfinding strategies.

Our 3D spatial modelling has allowed Crown to make more informed decisions on information placement, people flows, and even hoarding placements during the renovation stages. Some of the projects were in collaboration with FutureBrand, Fabio Ongerato Design and Bates Smart Architects.
