Wayshowing Strategy

Providing Rich Experiences for Audiences

In July 2012 Melbourne Arts Centre’s Hamer Hall re-opened it’s doors after a $136 million revamp by ARM Architects.

With expanded foyers, added amenities and spectacular city views, the redevelopment of Hamer Hall provides rich experiences for audiences who can sit, relax and enjoy

the comfort of its improved and accessible spaces and surrounds.

With it’s a much improved connection between the Yarra River, St Kilda Road, Federation Square and Hamer Hall itself it has become a much more transparent building with all the applied changes

to the in & outside of the building.

ID/Lab has been responsible for the wayshowing strategy & designed the signage system. The design is sympathetic to the history of the theatre and its surroundings while performing to the standards expected. It blends in while still standing out.
