This site is an entertainment and retail precinct with complex requirements from an operational perspective. In itself, Harbour Town shopping precinct is already a tourist magnet, and the 120 meters high ‘SouthernStar’ observation wheel, |
is estimated to bring an extra 1.5 million visitors a year to the site, once it has been resurrected. ID/Lab was commissioned to develop the wayfinding strategy and performance specifications for the signage hardware. |
We collaborated closely with the operators of the Southern Star, to provide insight into queuing behaviour of large groups and to determine the gaps between expected and desired navigational behaviour and develop a strategy in line with this. |
